The marque

How will it become when we do it?

Khumalo is a hypercar, beauty and craftsmanship company. We design original, South African-styled cars with a pure African artistic feel, and we push past what a conventional car can be.

We favour the old-school engine build over the modern electric one. We take on difficult challenges because our mission is to shift the market and bring back the old feeling of exclusivity and comfort.

We honour the old masters and the Italian spirit of passion and patience, and we write our own story in the language of African creativity.

Our principles

01

Pride

Every surface, fibre and bolt is a signature, the trace of human pride.

02

Africanism

African creativity and heritage in every surface, stitch and detail.

03

Warmth

Natural leather and wood, and a welcome that feels like family.

04

Beauty

A car should be beautiful and functional, and worthy of existing as art.

05

Resilience

Built to last for decades, by people who don't give up.

Ethos

Craftsmanship is an act of care

We work slowly, intentionally and beautifully. We are not here to mass-produce. We are here to create something worthy of the hands that made it and the hearts that will drive it.

In our workshop, technology is not a substitute for the human touch. It is a tool that extends it. Carbon fibre, titanium and leather are our instruments, and harmony is our goal.

We do not chase fame. We let the work speak quietly for itself.

Founder & CEO

Kwazi Khumalo

Kwazi founded Khumalo to build cars the way the great independent makers do. He believes a car should be both beautiful and functional, whatever it takes. For Kwazi, a car is not designed around how many will sell. It is a work of art that deserves to exist for its own sake.

The sketchbook

Drawn by hand first

Every Khumalo starts as pencil on paper, from the first profile lines to the cockpit and the chassis layout. The A28 was drawn by hand before it was rendered.
